We left Brantome around 10 and wiggled our way across country to the little town/ large village of Vergt.

We went first to the campsite and pitched our very soggy tent close to the lake. As hoped, it dried quickly and we left it in the sun and went in search of lunch and supplies.
We had an excellent lunch at the Mouton Noir, near the market hall. K had the salad Perigordian with lots of shredded duck , gesiers, walnutd, a slice foi gras - in other words, it was the works.
I had a demi magret du canard which came with roast new potatoes and roast vegetables, carrot, aubergine and green beans.
Then on to a rather uninspiring Intermarche (never shop when so full you'll never want to eat again).
It was a sunny afternoon when we walked all the way round the lac nufont, which is being sensitively developed for tourism. Our lovely campsite is brand new and the delightfully friendly managers are rightly proud of it.

That evening we did eat rather well - steak hache in arrabiata sauce and orzo with salad. It quickly cooled off and we moved into the Wolf for coffee and choco walnuts to finish off a rather fine, relaxing day.
We found time to plan out 3 rides in the area - delighted with the campsite and Vergt, looking to stay 3 to 4 nights here.
