Isla Armona

An early start to the 'rest day' as we wanted to catch the 10 ferry over to the Isla Armona. We had coffee and our first pastelle nata by the harbour before piling onto the ferry with a gaggle of eager holiday makers and a small army of excited young children, It took just 15 enthralling minutes to chugg along past the salt marshes to the island. After disembarking we walked the 1.2 km to the beach. It runs for miles along the lenght of the island towards Fuseta.

Such a restful few hours just sitting and drinking it all in. The sparkling blue sea lapping against the soft honey coloured sand - perfect. We paddled of course, the tide coming in bringing some waves. We walked back and joined the happy throngs eating lunch at Carlos over looking the harbour/ ferry pors. K had grilled dourade, I had a rather good burger.

We caught the 3.30 ferry back then ambled home for a siesta. We cooked and ate at the Casa Rosa this evening. Green broad beans fresh from the market in garlic with smoked ham, tuna, bread and a fine bottle of white wine. As it was full dark we sat on the roof and watched the stars and the planes coming in. A very good restful day.
