into the hills around Sao Bras

Early start again - kicking of with freshly baked pastell nata and americano's before hitting the road. We'd worked out a good route out of town, heading toward the coast path but carrying on to Queldes, swinging over on to Barrances and on up past quitados Poetas toward Estoi climbing higher into the hills around Sao Bras.

As we climbed higher into the hills tha terrain became a little greener than down around the coast. The olive and orange groves were grassed with sheep grazing. We found a great restraunt just before Sao Bras, arriving just after they opened at midday and already quickly filling up.

Linda had a mixed meat/ cheese starter for mains, K had a surprisingly good tasting, moreish tuna lasagne all with lots of bread and olives, plus our usual modest demi of white. Super quality and value at 33E.

In keeping with the pattern of our rides, the route back was more problematic. We missed a key turn and had to return uphill for a few km to get back on course. We got back to the harbour about 4pm having completed a 51km round trip. Time for large beers at the jazz bar and a photo op for the bikes.

In the evening we returned to the Real Pamsqueria where we shared oysters and tempura prawns. Linda had Secreto de Porc Iberico - delicious pork tenderloin, I had the cuttlefish and chips.
