A circuit of Lac Vassiviere

We are at 'Bois et Nature' camping beside lake Vassiviere, deep in wooded hills of le Cruese. Nearest village is Royere de Vassiviere about 4 km away.

Had a lie in as it was our first day. We cycled 22 miles around the lake. The area is hilly, a string of 3 to 8% gradients , mostly in the 5 to 6 range. We both coped well (me thanks to the electric wonder called Gloria). The map of area 147 looks more assessible as a result.

A fine 31€ lunch of pizza and steak hache amply compensated for the fruesli breakfast. The welcoming restaurant was buzzing with clients, including some very fit walkers with massive backpacks.

Back at the campsite about 3.30.

Cool, cloudy evening but so far, no rain.

As the evening cooled we moved inside and had supper. Prawns in chilli mayo, roast chicken and ham with salad. Cheese and coffee to finish. A fine day.
