Some slightly more assertive gradients ...

We rode from the campsite out along lac Vassiviere for a while, then headed out on a circuit to Faux la Montangne. Very much steeper climbs and descents today. Thankfully we went anticlockwise- the 'right' way round.

Lunch at a picnic spot by the lake, then took a very rural road over the golf course and up and over to Gentiux Pigerolles. Didn't cycle UP to the town centre. Rolled (mostly) down to Vassiviere and back to camp.

After showering, drove into Royere for supplies (bread and wine), a beer in the bar.

Back at camp we sat out and enjoyed succulent pork and chicken kebabs with potato salad and remoulad.

As the evening came on we retreated to the tent. Soon after an almighty storm broke. Torrential rain all night put a dampener on the day and our plans for tomorrow.
